Gangs infest every state. They ruin lives through violence, murder, drugs, theft, and destruction of property while lowering the standard of living for many citizens trapped by ruthless gang activities. To stop gang violence, citizens need information, support and community activism. These tools remain viable options in combating the problem locally.
1.Attend meetings with concerned citizens to organize programs within the local school through sports, drama and activities that offer alternatives to gangs.
2.Provide gang and drug prevention classes to students. Let them know about gang related violence, death statistics, drug problems and a dead end future for many members.
3.Offer support and counseling to victims of gangs living in the area.
4.Maintain dress codes that prohibit displaying gang colors or paraphernalia.
5.Work with the local police by establishing community patrols or a Neighborhood Watch program. Keep each other aware of graffiti, gang members and territories.
6.Bring in community leaders, counselors, clubs like the PPC and business leaders and other community groups to acquire knowledge and develop programs to stop gang violence.
7.Develop a strong bond with open communication with your children to stop them from joining or hanging around with violent gangs.

The Gang Intervention Programs use innovative approaches to help youth learn and experience positive alternatives. Services provided include case management, individual/family counseling with a licensed therapist, recreational activities, and participation in community events.
